Hello Yellow Day 2025

Oak Class

On Hello Yellow Day, we joined thousands of schools across the country in raising awareness about mental health and showing support for young people who may be struggling. The day is all about reminding ourselves that we are never alone with our feelings and that it’s okay to talk about them.

During the day, we explored the theme of worries:

  • We discussed what worries are and shared times when we have felt worried ourselves.
  • We thought carefully about how we know when we are feeling worried—recognising the signs in our bodies and minds.
  • We listened to the story Worrysaurus, which helped us reflect on how worries can feel heavy but also how we can find ways to lighten them.
  • Together, we brainstormed strategies that help us when worries appear, from talking to someone we trust to using calming activities.
  • Finally, we wrote our own positive affirmations, reminding ourselves of our strengths and encouraging words we can use when we need a boost.

Hello Yellow Day was a wonderful opportunity to learn, share, and support each other. It reminded us that even small acts of kindness and positivity can make a big difference in how we feel.

Cherry Class

For Hello Yellow Day, Cherry Class spent time thinking and talking about what makes us feel happy. The children shared lots of ideas about activities that help them feel good, such as running, sitting quietly, listening to a story, playing a game and dancing.

After exploring all of these, the class agreed that one activity made them especially happy: dough disco! The children loved squeezing, rolling and shaping the dough to music, and it brought lots of smiles and giggles throughout the day.

Cedar Class

Hello Yellow Day was a great chance for the children to think about the importance of looking after their mental health. The classroom was bright with lots of yellow, and it was lovely to see how much effort the children put into joining in. They took part in mindfulness colouring and created their own mental health toolkits, exploring simple things they can do to support their own wellbeing. We also talked about ways they can show support to others, helping them understand how small actions can make a big difference.
